Engagement Becomes a Top Management Concern

Engaging employees ranked third among the leading issues facing today's managers, according to a 2006 survey by the Ken Blanchard Companies, an international learning and performance consulting firm. The organization polled 805 HR and line managers across a variety of industries and found that 53% of respondents identified engagement as a top concern for leaders, behind developing potential leaders and identifying and recruiting key talent, respectively. Blanchard's 2006 findings compared with 47% of respondents' noting engagement as a leading issue in the company's 2003 survey.
